Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer of Medicine & Science at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA); President and Chief Executive Officer of University Health System in Shreveport, Louisiana; President and Chief Operating Officer of Tenet Health System’s Detroit Medical Center; Chief Operating Officer of Vanguard Health System; and Executive Vice President for Inova Health System.

Jeff Cowart, Managing Partner

Jeff is the former Senior Vice President for Growth and Business Development for Vanguard Health Systems supporting the San Antonio, Phoenix and Detroit markets. Before that, he was Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Inova Health System in Fairfax, Virginia. His consulting work includes Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, CVS Health, Advocate Health; Howard Hughes Medical Institute;  and Major League Baseball. He is the former Deputy Chief of Staff and Press Secretary for Louisiana Governor Charles “Buddy” Roemer. His early career was as a newspaper journalist and he has consulted The Washington Post; The New York Times; The Los Angeles Times; The Chicago Tribune; USA Today; El Nuevo Dia (Puerto Rico); La Nacion (Costa Rica); La Nacion (Buenos Aires) and others.

John Hill, Managing Partner

John has more than 40 years of experience in hospital/physician relations, physician recruiting, practice management, practice acquisitions, building and managing large physician networks and consulting on practice operations issues. As a founding partner in Healthcare Strategy Group (HSG), he focused on acquiring, building, and managing large physician networks for hospital clients. This included managing the full scope of practice operations, strategy and goal alignment, growing market share, recruitment, and physician contracting and compensation. Before HSG, he was founder and president of Physician Services of America (PSA), which specialized in physician recruiting, physician manpower planning and consulting services for hospitals, health systems and physician groups.
